History of the Cakemuir Castle

Cakemuir Castle is a historic house situated 4 miles southeast of Pathhead, in the Lammermuir Hills, Midlothian, Scotland. The name may be connected with the provision of shelter and hospitality to pilgrims on their way to Melrose Abbey

This building is typical of many of the mid 16th century buildings that existed in Midlothian but now only a few remain.
